Feedbacks from travelers(that have not meet any unfortunate events) sounds so sweet and the by look of their faces, you can tell they are really impressed and glad that they spend their time here, I have heard comments like:
"You such wonderful beaches"
"I love the weather here!! I love the sun!!"
"We have not much problem here since everybody can speak English"
"Those buildings are marvelous!!"
"This is really a nice place..."
As wonderful as it may sound, while discussing about how wonderful is Penang, they do give me some idea for some improvement for Penang..Something they would like Penang to Have...
(1) More Public Transportation
One of a traveler(Canada) told me: "You have already some problem with the traffic, and it will get worst I tell you". What he is asking for, is something convenience for everybody to use as a transport so that there won't be so much cars on the road, something like a LRT, Monorail or something underground? His idea is all true, no traveler wants to waste time in the traffic when their time here is limited even locals starting to get frustration with the increasing volume on our roads. However, let's face the fact, in a city as ours there is surely a traffic problem when it comes to the 'rush hour', is somehow inevitable, but i still like his idea, something convenience for all of us to use, would really save a lot of people.
(2) Better Business Hotels
Another traveler(UK) told me:"You dun really have good hotel around town dun you? You have budgets hotel and.. Well E&O is nice but..(Funny face siding his head left and right) maybe you need more business hotels here" "There is still some spaces around here (Beside E&O, I think he is referring to Penang Bowl, since it is not so obvious that the building is occupied) that you could build some nice hotel" "Those old building in town could be preserved and used as a boutique hotel" This guy is definitely a business guy, opening his business mind everywhere he goes, no doubt, his advise could be valuable and might be worth to pun attention on, is a business opportunity you know. What he is asking is for more well build, beautiful, prestige and high end hotels in town, in his eyes, E&O or G hotel is nothing but an 'OK OK' hotel. What he is saying is that we shouldn't put all our attention in Batu Feringgi and have all the high ends hotel there because he said this:"You have nice resorts in Batu Feringgi dun't you? But if you compared with Langkawi, they are better since they have more beach and nice locations to build their hotels and their hotels all are really high end, the mighty Four season is enough." Yup, the best we have in Batu Feringgi is Shangri-La group and Hard Rock for reputation. So, Penang oh Penang, you can start stop thinking that you could have wonderful resorts here, stop building so much malls, and start concentrate on build a prestige hotel in town. We are not all about beaches you know.
Thats all for now..these are the feedbacks that might help Penang to improve so far...Since.. You know, not much people want to come to your country and start bad-mouthing your country, they still wanna live after the vacation they have xD
